Weekly Roundup - July 6, 2013

The first roundup of the 2nd half of the year.  I still can't believe that 2013 is over halfway over.  This past week was pretty good.  It was relatively easy at work with pretty much 3 days of doing nothing.  Unfortunately that meant staying at the rig instead of being at the house.  Luckily last weekend my wife was able to drive over to San Antonio while I was free from work and we got to spend a good weekend together.  It wasn't nearly the cheap weekend that we had before with the museum and free concert, but splurging every now and then is okay.

We ended up going to Six Flags Fiesta Texas, an amusement park, and despite the really hot weather it actually worked for us since most of the people were in the water park rather than the roller coaster area.  Since the lines weren't all that bad we opted to wait the extra few minutes to get to sit in the front car on all of the rides.  It was definitely worth it.  They have a new ride at the park that actually opened just about a month ago and it was really good.  The very first drop on the ride is almost vertical so they start you off with a bang.  Sadly it was back to work for me and back to the house for my wife but it was great to see her again.  Knowing that I can't be home with her all the time is one of the big drivers for me to stick with my plan for financial independence

Thanks to everyone that visited and mentioned Passive-Income-Pursuit this past week.  I hope you had a great 4th of July holiday with family and friends.

    1. Martin,

No problem. I feel that I need to put it out there that I really enjoyed or learned something from an article since I am getting the content for free. My own way of paying them back.

      Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Pursuit,

    Thanks for including me!

Sounds like you had a great time at the amusement park. I haven't been to a park like that in many years. I used to go to Cedar Point in Ohio all the time when I was a kid. I do miss days like that. Brings you back to your childhood!

    Have a great weekend!

    Best wishes.

    1. DM,

The amusement park was great and it definitely did bring me back to my pre-teen/teenage years of going to the one that we had in Houston. Unfortunately it closed down but it was always fun. I'm actually thinking of trying to go up to Cedar Point later this year with my wife for a weekend. I've heard it's one of the best parks around.

      Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Good to know you had fun at six flags. Been a long while since I last visited amusement park. Makes me remind of my teen-age when I use to love those roller coaster rides again and again. Thanks for sharing the great articles as well

    1. Sam,

It was really great to go back in time to my younger days. It brought back memories of when I would go as a kid and we'd circle back in lines that weren't that long. I'm hoping to be able to check out some of other parks around the country as well. I've heard Cedar Point is supposed to be one of the best so that might be a weekend trip later this year.

Glad to have you reading and thanks for stopping by!
