I love this time of year. There's a chill in the air. Fires and food are plenty. And let's not forget the best part, getting to spend time with your family and friends. Unfortunately I'll be working yet again, but I was thankfully able to see a good chunk of my family this past weekend. I'm thankful that I have the opportunity to strive for FI/ER so I can capture all of my time to spend on improving relationships with family and friends. And of course my loving wife that puts up with me and my crazy job. So enjoy the time you have this holiday and make sure you spend it with your loved ones.
I'd like to share a quick story that my wife told me about yesterday after she got back home from the grocery store. *I know who would go to the store on any kind of holiday eve
The store was packed as usual on most holiday eves with the stragglers or with those that had forgotten something. My wife saw one lady with 4 kids with her looking at turkeys and checking the price tags, carefully selecting one that and put it in her almost empty cart. About that time another lady was walking over to her quite intently. So she thinks that this could be getting ugly. Woman #2 strikes up a conversation with Woman #1 and after a few moments tells her that she paid for Woman #2's turkey and to have a good Thanksgiving with her family. Woman #1 proceeded to cry and hug Woman #2.
