New Year Edition | Weekly Roundup - January 6, 2018

Curated list of articles on dividend growth investing, financial independence, freedom and passive income

It's hard to believe that 2017 has come and gone and 2018 is well underway.  When I was younger I never realized, or appreciated, the time that just seemed to take forever to pass.  Months would seem like years, yet now it's just the opposite where years seems like months.  2017 brought a lot of change for us with me returning to work in February and of course our daughter always keeps us on our toes and busy.  Busy is an understatement really.
I'm pretty stoked about 2018 and getting back to regular writing because I love interacting with everyone in the community and most importantly getting a chance to learn from others.  If you're like me you have very few people in your day to day lives that are interested in researching companies, investing or looking for other ways to make extra money with the goal being financial independence.  Writing has already started picking up here and I hope to keep that momentum going.

If you somehow missed it, I've changed up the blog a bit.  It was long overdue and I still have a lot of work to do with it.  I'm undecided myself as to whether swapping to white background/black text as opposed to black background/white text is easier to read.  If you get a chance please let me know what you think about the new format/layout.  I'll probably be playing around with the format a little bit over the coming weeks so any feedback would be appreciated.

On to the Roundup

In case you missed them, here's the posts from Passive-Income-Pursuit over the past week.

Also, be sure to sign up to receive posts via email and to follow me on Twitter@JC_PIP so you don't miss anything.  You can also follow me on Facebook or Pinterest if you prefer those methods to get your daily fix and keep up to date on happenings around here.

Once again I'd like to say thanks to each and every one of you that read, commented, and shared posts from here this past week.  This dividend growth investing and financial independence community is amazing and the openness from everyone is awesome.  Thanks again!

  1. Nice summary JC. 2017 was kind to many of us in the DGI community. Here's to another good year. Tom

    1. Tom,

2017 was a great year and I'm hoping for even better, at least for what I can control, for 2018. Even better is that I fully expect organic dividend growth for my portfolio to pick up during the year which is just icing on the cake. All the best.

  2. JC, You are so right. The older I get the quicker time goes by. At 31 years old, I've only found two people out of all my friends who enjoy talking about investing. It's great to have the DGI community to let you know that you are not alone.

    Good Luck in 2018!

    1. MH,

Yeah, there's not a lot of people in my day to day life that enjoys talking investing/trading/money so it's pretty difficult to have conversations and most importantly learn and share ideas. But that's what's great about the internet and this community.

      All the best.
