Weekly Roundup - December 14, 2013
It's been a pretty hectic week for me with work as I had to get back to the grind and start up another job. But all's not lost as that's the fuel source for my journey to financial independence. Having a high income allows me to accelerate that process and continue to make positive steps forward. The best part about having to go back to work this week is that there's a chance I'll get to be home for Christmas. Originally I was thinking I wouldn't be back home until after Christmas but the way this well is going and with there still being 11 more days I think I might be home a little before and on break for a few days covering the holiday. As far as the portfolio goes, I doubled down on my HCP position to help lower my cost basis and made some option trades to roll out some open positions. I might have been a bit hasty in that decision but it's been made so now I'll live with it. I should have a post up detailing all of the moves within the next few days.
Another great thing about all of my recent purchases is that it's pushed me over my forward 12 month dividend goal of $3,500 by the end of the year. With the purchases, some dividend reinvestments, and some dividend increases my forward 12 month dividends are now up to $3,588.83. Goal accomplished!
I'd like to thank everyone that stopped by, commented, and shared posts from Passive-Income-Pursuit this past week. I truly appreciate all of your support and inspiration and I just hope to be able to help motivate and inspire all of you as well.

ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
FI,
DeleteNo problem on the mentions! Hope you have a great weekend! I'm stuck at work, but at least I have some blogs to catch up on while we drill ahead.
Thanks for stopping by!
Pursuit,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the mention. Always appreciated.
Hope you don't stay too busy over there. Gotta stop and smell the roses every once in a while. :)
Enjoy your weekend!
Best wishes.
DM,
DeleteNo problem. I hear ya on the stopping to smell the roses. I wish I could do it more often, but for now I'll stick to the grind. The good thing though is that I might be home for Christmas which is always welcomed.
Hope you have a good one.

Great purchase. I have been biting here and there at HCP over the last month. I think a lot of the healthcare REITs are looking very attractive at these levels.
ReplyDeleteWarrior,
DeleteThe healthcare REITs and REITs in general have been taking a beating and I don't expect a big reversal in that going forward assuming the Fed does finally start to taper. There might not be further selloff in the share prices but I don't expect to see any major moves higher. I was glad to be able to add to my position as I wanted a bit larger one than I had originally purchased, but I knew it wasn't the best of prices that we'll see. I'll probably look to add some more in another few months if the share price does continue to have some weakness. Have a great rest of the weekend!

Thanks for the mention; I hope you're having a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteDGM,
DeleteNo problem on the mention! It's been a fairly easy weekend, although unfortunately I'm at work.
Thanks for stopping by!
PIP,
ReplyDeleteThanks again for the inclusion and all the sharing. Much appreciated. Didn't pick up any HCP Friday, we'll see this week. I have 80 shares now which I am content with, hoping to pick up at least another 20. Take care.

RBD,
DeleteI've also got 80 shares of HCP now. I'd add more in the future but it'll probably be another few months. I need to slow my roll on the REITs though as a rental property could very well be in the works in 2014. Have a great rest of the weekend!
