Happy Birthday to me!

Well today I turn 29 years old, one less year to hit FI before I'm done with my 40th year.

  1. CI,

Another year down but at least now I'm much closer to FI. Hope you have a great weekend. Thanks for the bday wishes.

  2. Happy birthday! I recently turned 31, so you have a 2-year compounding advantage over me. :)

  3. I just wish I had started a DG strategy in my 20's. You are well on your way to FI. Good luck and happy birthday!

    1. I'm glad that I started when I did and not later, but earlier would have been better. It would have been nice to know more about investing in general when I got my first real job. I lost about 2.5 years because of that. Oh well, I can't change it now, what matters is that I'm on the path and making progress. Thanks for the birthday wishes and have a great weekend!

    1. Stoic,

I didn't really get started until the end of 2011, but at least it was still my 20's.

      Thanks for the bday wishes!

  5. Pursuit,

Happy birthday! You're off to an incredible start for only being in your 20's. I started the journey to FI at 28, but definitely have not had the kind of progress you're having. You're going to reach FI way before 40 at this pace. Keep it up!

Enjoy your 29th! You're going to be an old man of 30 years old like me soon!

    Best wishes.

    1. DM,

I really didn't start until right before my 28th as well. Luckily it was once I got a really good paying job so I'm able to really put that money to work. I honestly don't know how I would spend all my FI savings if I wasn't focused on FI. There's stuff I'd be tempted to buy, but there's no way I'd spend $4,000+ on just stuff every month. Kind of blows my mind that there's people that make even more money than I do but just blow the money on things.

30 can't be too bad right? At least that'll be a good decade because I should reach FI during that time.

      Thanks for the birthday wishes.

    1. Thanks for the birthday wishes! Hopefully I'll be celebrating my 39th surrounded by loved ones instead of how my 29th was with coworkers in the middle of nowhere. And also without the burden of having to go to work to support myself. Happy belated 39th to you and have a great 2013!
