Weekly Roundup - August 3, 2013

This past week went by extremely fast.  As I've mentioned my wife and I are looking at purchasing a house and we spent most of our time while I was home looking at potential houses.  We had put an offer in last week and it was accepted.  Now I just want to get the process started toward actually getting keys in hand.  We'll be having the inspection done on Monday and hopefully there's no big issues that need to be taken care of because that could seriously effect the purchase.  It's newish construction since it was built in 2000 so I wouldn't expect there to be anything that bad.  I know our monthly costs are going to go up with a house but my wife really wanted to have a place of our own.  Once the house is ours for sure then I'll post up some pictures.  If everything goes smoothly we should close around the first week of September.

I'd just like to thank everyone that mentioned or stopped by Passive Income Pursuit this past week.  Since I was so busy while home I didn't get to be as active here and on all of the other wonderful blogs.

    1. DM,

This whole process has gone much faster than I anticipated. We'll have the inspection tomorrow and if there's nothing major that comes back we'll move forward with the appraisal later in the week. There was one other house that we really liked but there was absolutely no yard. We have a big black lab and while the yard was still big enough for him it just wasn't all that great. This one is much bigger and already has a pergola built so we have some outdoor entertaining and relaxing features already.

      Thanks for stopping by!

    1. DGM,

Thanks. It should be great. Even though the whole process has gone a lot faster than I expected, I'm still ready to go on and get moved in. My wife's going to hate it if I can't get off for closing because she'll have power of attorney and have to write a sentence stating that on every signature for closing. Hopefully it works out that I can be off for that.

      Have a great weekend!

    1. Integrator,

Thanks! My wife and I are very excited about it and we're just ready to get the process moving along more. We're still the option period and I'll be so glad when that's done and we're moving forward with the actual purchase. Nice houses in the area where we purchased are being snatched up quickly too.

      Thanks for stopping by!
