Weekly Roundup - May 20, 2017

Happy Weekend!  Check out what's been going on in my world and some of the best articles from around the blogosphere.

In my world a week a home is always a great week.  We finished up the last well on Monday of this week and I've been home since.  Thankfully.  While I love being home, I have to say I secretly want to be back out at work so I'm not quite so busy.  You see when you're gone for a few weeks at a time the "honey do" list piles up quick and I've been working to scratch things off the list this week.

There isn't much to report as far as the portfolio.  It's just been business as usual with putting on multiple option positions while I wait for better opportunities in the market to put some serious capital to work.

In other work related news I've officially applied to go back to my former employer which is both good and bad.  It's the right thing to do considering the oil field isn't exactly booming right now, but things are slowly improving which is all I can ask for.  I spoke with my old boss this week and he said I should have an offer by Monday, but we'll see because they're notoriously slow at getting things done.

This weekend my wife and I, as well as some other family, will be heading out west of San Antonio to Garner State Park.  It'll be great to get out and explore the park especially since I haven't been there in 15 or so years.  It's a pretty hefty drive at nearly 5 hours but it'll be great to get back out in nature and away from the hustle and bustle of life.
